A post about my posts.

I had an inspiring conversation with a close friend of mine.  She is a very passionate feminist with a strong conviction of who she is and what she believes.  After a riveting conversation about why it is impossible to rank any art form above another, I told her she must start a blog and express her ideas.  She then told me she has contemplated doing this but then decided it may cause to much conflict or heart ache for the people who may read it.

Her thoughts on blogs are interesting and (of course) bold.  She feels that most people blog because they are excited to tell everybody just how awesome they are- a superficial portrayal of their life, lacking depth and emotion.

Uh, my blog might qualify...except like all of you I am not intentionally trying to fit this bill.  I blog about cool stuff I do because, well, what else would I blog about?  Plus lets be honest, I do want you to think my life is awesome.

However this conversation did compel me to perhaps add a titch more depth to my blog.  I would like to talk more about literature, music, film, and maybe even my personal views on life and how I'd like to be living it.

  1. I already knew you were cool, but your blog certainly helps convince others. I mean stories about Chacos spooning, how much cooler can a person get?! :)

    Love ya!

  2. Now don't go too deep on me now. Blogging about the fun (or even mundane) stuff we do is just another way for others to keep up with our lives! Besides, it's really just a great way to share photos and keep a little history. Who needs depth and emotion in a blog anyway?? Just my two bits.

  3. I would be excited to hear about your thoughts and feelings, but I am just as excited to see your photos and be able to experience a part of your life. I love seeing what you enjoy and the people and things that mean so much to you. I blog to share my feelings and experiences about my "ancestors, descendants, happenings, reflections and joy" and use it as a way to keep our dear family a little more connected. It is also my way of keeping a journal and reminds me of the things that happened during the year. With the present state of my memory, reminders are super important. Keep on bloggin'. I love reading yours.
